Dust Lavellan grew up in an Alienage in Antiva, the daughter of a Dalish hunter and a city elf mercenary. Even though she is most definitely NOT Andrastian, she enjoys the holiday of Satinalia, with is celebrated in Antiva with a week long festival full of masks and intrigue. To honor her Antivan heritage, the Inquisitor will choose seven winners, one for each day of the celebration, to receive a special gift, personally chosen by members of the Inquisition.
In celebration of reaching my 500 follower milestone, and in preparation for the holidays,
I want to do a special holiday themed giveaway to thank all of you wonderful people who follow me, even though you all have DEEPLY questionable taste. Inspired by my obsession with Satinalia and Antiva, this giveaway will finish on the 7th day of Firstfall (November 7th, 2015) so that the winners will all (hopefully) get their prizes in time to help get them through their real life holidays.
Because you know what is actually not nearly as fun as people make it out to be? The holidays! It’s supposed to be all joy and laughter but really it’s often a lot of stress, spending money you don’t have, and dealing with your obnoxious relatives. If you’re lucky you can drink, and if you’re not… well let me suggest that you bask in the glow of fandom!
So, let’s get to the details!
This is a little bit more complicated than my last give away, so please read the rules closely!
The Rules:
You have to be following me, but you can be a new follower, that’s cool. I like new people! No giveaway blogs. (It would be nice if you didn’t take your loot and run, but, hey, I get it, you like big loots and you cannot lie.) Only reblogs count. Likes will be summarily ignored. In honor of the week long celebration you may reblog this post up to SEVEN TIMES in order to win. Seven shall be the number of the reblogging and the number of the reblogging shall be seven. Eight shalt thou not reblog, neither shalt thou reblog six, excepting that thou then proceedeth to seven. The Fine Print:
Winners will be chosen by the power of the RNG, may you only roll crits.
There will be one winner for each of the seven days of Satinalia. I will choose the winners in advance and announce one winner on each day of the celebration.
If you win, there is no substitution for the prize. If it isn’t your cup of tea let me know and I’ll choose a different winner. (But honestly maybe just don’t reblog if the prizes aren’t to your liking, nothing wrong with abstaining!)
All prizes will be shipped directly to you at an address of your choice. I live in the US, but will ship internationally as long as there aren’t any strange customs restrictions or anything.
The giveaway will run until November 7th, 2015, at 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time. Because I like precision. You have until then to get in your reblogs.
“Satinalia” will take place from November 8th to November 14th, 2015. Each day the winner will be announced (with a small drabble because I’m a nerd.) I will message you the same day. Anyone who doesn’t respond in 48 hours will be disqualified, and I’ll pick another winner.

Day Four: The Storyteller - Who doesn’t love Varric Tethras? No seriously I mean it, what the hell is wrong with you? In honor of everyone’s favorite dwarf and his magnificent chest hair, and equally magnificent “weapon” (allegedly) winners will receive a set of Inquisition playing cards, an Inquisition stein, and an Inquisition leather bound notebook. Perfect for drinking, Wicked Grace, and taking notes on your companions’ personal lives.
Day Five:The HardingWhen you’re scouting across Thedas as lead scout for the Inquisition, you need a bag that can keep up with you. Alternately something to shove all your crap in while you dash across campus, work, or a convention floor. Either way, this bag is for you.
Day Six:Andraste’s Herald’s Mabari - No really, that’s it, just a giant plush mabari for all you Fereldan dog lords to love and cuddle. Dust doesn’t really get the obsession, but whatever, she doesn’t judge (unless Josephine makes her).
Day Seven: The Seeker - In honor of my blog’s namesake, the magnificent Cassandra “Disgusted Noise” Penteghast, the day seven winner will receive the Eye of the Seeker Necklace and the Cassandra Believer Plate Hoody (I refuse to gender assign a hoody, but be sure to check the sizing.)

while 80% of this is made up of things i already had or bought for the costume, i want to focus a bit on the cloak. which i made. from scratch.
it’s not a huge accomplishment in some people’s books, yeah, but this is the first time i’ve made something completely from the start with new materials, and i also hand sewed it all together. it was simple, really, closing the back of the hood then attaching it to the body of the cloak, but i’m stupidly proud of it nonetheless.

side note: i’ve been following @aicosu for…god. almost a year now? and i’ve always been stupidly impressed by sheila’s work. so i told myself, if sheila can create magic, i can do a simple spell myself. when i finished, i wanted to tell sheila to thank her, and she was super fucking nice about it???? so, thank you again, sheila, whenever you see this!
